Less Hate, More Speech at the annual conference organized by The American Political Science Association (APSA)
The academic paper “Tolerance or Rights: The Nature and the Roots of Prejudiced and Discriminatory Attitudes Towards Minority Groups” developed by MRC researchers was selected to be presented during the Annual American Political Science Association conference.
The meeting took place September 1-4 in Philadelphia, USA.
The paper aimed to assess the presence of various manifestations of ADID in the Romnaian population, and try to see whether they occur together, how, when and regarding what targets/outgroups, as well as for what kinds of people. The paper was produced using original data collected through the Less Hate More Speech population survey. Our presentation addressed the paper findings, as well as its limits and potential future research avenues to explore.
During the discussions session, participants to the “Romanian Studies” panel gave feedback to the papers presented during the event, and the importance of an effective collaboration between various research institutions was emphasized.
